Neighborhood Health Series: Completing the Mission, A Veteran’s Pathway to Degree Completion
November 16 @ 5:30 pm - 7:00 pm
In the summer of 2015, the College of Nursing at a Roseman University of Health Sciences was awarded a three-year $1 million HRSA grant that allowed the development and implementation of a Veteran to Bachelor of Science in Nursing Pathway (VBSN).
The development of the VBSN degree was created to meet the needs of the veteran population and encompasses veteran transitions, supports, and best practices in nursing education from the point of inquiry through to career. Learn how Roseman is developing a replicable model which assesses veteran’s competency to award nursing academic credit for education and experience attained during active and reserve military service, how faculty can best work with Veterans in a culture of respect that addresses the physical, emotional, and environmental issues they face, and lastly how Veteran graduates will quickly and competently secure employment after they graduate. Meet current VBSN students sharing their perspectives and insights related to transitioning into the role of a student from the military culture.
Register to attend this free community event. Light food and refreshments will be served.
