Neighborhood Health Series: 12 Days in Uganda, How a Medical Mission Abroad Changed Lives

February 20 @ 5:30 pm - 7:00 pm

Have you ever wondered about Medical Missions abroad? How do healthcare practitioners prepare to go overseas and how do they learn and inspire students? How might the environment be different and what can we draw from different situations? What kinds of challenges do they face the provision of healthcare? What kinds of assumptions do we make that are challenged when we are immersed in the culture of a different country? How can we bring these lessons home and how can we improve our own interpersonal and clinical skills? Learn more about Uganda, a relatively small country in East Africa with a population of 42 million people, with landscape encompassing the Rwenzori Mountains and Lake Victoria. Learn how the lives of patients there were changed, and how the lives of those taking care of those patients are forever impacted.

Free, with light dinner. RSVP at speakers.roseman.edu.
