The nurses on the frontlines of COVID inspired her

After working for 8 years in another profession, I would come home every night feeling empty—like I should be making a bigger difference in the world. I wanted to find a way to come home every night and feel fulfilled and happy because I knew I changed someone’s life for the better that day, and every day. That is when I decided it was time to become a nurse.
Throughout my educational journey, I was inspired by those who were fighting the COVID-19 pandemic. Watching the thousands of nurses working the frontline of this virus motivated me to successfully graduate school so I could join them. I was eager to get there and help in any way I could. I knew that everything I was learning in nursing school might someday make the difference in saving someone’s life. That was all the motivation I needed.
Because of the accelerated bachelor’s program for nursing, I was able to complete my dream of becoming a nurse quicker than I ever imagined. And with the simulation labs, clinicals and friendly professors that were always there to support us, I feel immensely prepared to enter the healthcare field.
The next step in my journey is to find a position within a pediatric hospital. I’d love to treat children of all ages so that they can live long and healthy lives.
