Faculty Onboarding Timeline

About New Faculty Onboarding

Onboarding at Roseman University College of Medicine (RUCOM) is a three-step process. This page provides clarity for faculty about RUCOM’s onboarding process, including the onboarding requirements at each step, the office responsible, and timelines.

As an Employee

The Office of Human Resources onboards all RUCOM faculty and staff as employees to the institution. The office processes all employment contracts and facilitates employee benefits and payroll. The human resources office also provides support and services to enhance your personal and professional lives.

As a Faculty Member

The Office of Faculty Affairs and Learning Innovation (OFALI) orients all new faculty on policies, processes, and procedures related to the life of a faculty member as well as the mission, vision, and values of the college of medicine. As a new faculty member, OFALI will introduce you to the expectations and process for advancement and promotion, the annual review process, and resources for both personal and professional development.

As a Member of Your Department or Office

Your department of hire will orient you to your specific faculty role, share department policies and procedures, and introduce you to departmental staff and resources. For administrative positions, your office will orient you to your administrative responsibilities, introduce you to staff, and share unit specific knowledge and expectations.
