Hero Scholar: Tayler Lam

Tayler Lam's path to becoming a 2025 Hero Scholar is rooted in a decade-long commitment to uplifting her Las Vegas community. Inspired by her mother, a NICU nurse, Tayler discovered her calling in healthcare through acts of service that began early and continue to define her character.

For ten years, Tayler has been an active member of Broadway in the H.O.O.D., a nonprofit theater organization providing accessible performing arts training to underrepresented youth. Her most cherished memory involves cooking and packaging free Thanksgiving meals for the Las Vegas community, embodying the spirit of service that drives her. Tayler’s dedication extends to the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Greater Las Vegas, where she annually volunteers with her family to cook dinners for families navigating healthcare challenges, ensuring their basic needs are met during difficult times.

As a Dean’s List biology student at UNLV, Tayler has emerged as a natural leader. Serving as Professional Development Chair for the Life Sciences Student Association, she mentors underclassmen and creates monthly newsletters filled with opportunities for growth. Her role as Sergeant-at-Arms for the Association of Pre-Health Professionals demonstrates her commitment to professional excellence.

Now pursuing pharmacy at Roseman University, Tayler brings research experience from the Stacy Lab and invaluable administrative skills from her work at Kirk Kerkorian School of Medicine. The Hero Scholarship, funded by Comprehensive Cancer Centers of Nevada, will support her mission to serve communities through compassionate pharmacy care.
