At Roseman University, our Accelerated Bachelor of Science in Nursing (ABSN) program combines classroom learning with hands-on skills and simulation labs, giving students the practice they need to succeed in clinical rotations, pass the NCLEX, and start a rewarding nursing career.

Whether you’re completing your labs at our Henderson, Nevada campus (near Las Vegas) or our South Jordan, Utah campus (near Salt Lake City), you’ll gain access to state-of-the-art nursing labs that provide a safe, supportive environment to build confidence and clinical competence. Our labs are built around the INACSL Healthcare Simulation Standards of Best Practice™, which guide our approach to high-quality simulation education, including scenario design, facilitation, prebriefing, and debriefing.

Skills Labs: Building Your Foundation

Before working with live patients, you’ll build your foundation in our skills labs, where you practice nursing essentials with low-fidelity manikins and authentic medical equipment.

• Perform comprehensive health assessments.
• Practice essential nursing functions such as monitoring blood pressure, administering IVs, and recording vital signs.
• Develop the muscle memory and confidence you’ll need in real patient care settings.

We emphasize psychological safety in all simulation and skills lab environments so students can practice, make mistakes, and learn without fear of judgment.

Simulation Labs Provide Real-World Preparation

Our nursing simulation labs use advanced, high-fidelity manikins and hospital-grade technology to immerse you in lifelike healthcare scenarios. During these labs, you will develop and evaluate complex interventions to improve health. These experiences help sharpen your critical thinking, communication, and decision-making skills in a safe learning environment.

Each nursing simulation includes three parts:

• Preparation – Review case details and objectives.
• Simulation – Participate in a guided patient-care scenario.
• Debriefing – Performance evaluation with instructor.

All simulations follow a structured, CJMM-guided debriefing model to strengthen your clinical judgment. Through reflection, identifying cues, and discussing interventions, you learn how to analyze situations and make informed decisions in future patient interactions.

With guidance from clinical instructors and preceptors, you’ll learn how to apply nursing theory in real-world scenarios, strengthening your critical thinking, teamwork, and communication skills. Our faculty are trained simulation educators, including nurse educators and simulation specialists with advanced preparation in scenario design, facilitation, and structured debriefing.

Our computerized, anatomically correct manikins simulate realistic patient responses, from breathing and bleeding to childbirth and recovery.
