
Dr. Catherine “Leiana” Oswald obtained her Bachelor of Science in Nutritional Sciences from the University of Nevada Las Vegas (2004), and her Pharmacy Doctorate from Roseman University of Health Sciences (2007). After spending 6 years managing some of Las Vegas’ busiest community pharmacies, she joined Roseman University of Health Sciences College of Pharmacy as the Director of Experiential Education IPPE. In 2019 she was promoted to Assistant Dean for Academic Affairs. She also holds the rank of associate professor of pharmacy practice and is a board-certified geriatric pharmacist. Dr. Oswald serves as founder and co-faculty advisor for Roseman’s student chapter of the American Society of Consultant Pharmacists (ASCP). Passionate about care for the older adults, she created Roseman’s Medicare Call Center in 2015 in partnership with the State of Nevada Medicare Assistance Program (MAP). Dr. Oswald has successfully secured 4 different grants totaling over $400,0000 in funding to support Roseman’s Medicare Call Center and expand services provided by pharmacists in Nevada. She enjoys teaching in Roseman Six-Point Mastery Learning Model and teaches in courses including Clinical Nutrition, Leadership, Pharmacy Law, Pharmacy and Medicare, and Pharmacy Capstone. A former Division I NCAA student athlete, Dr. Oswald spends time outside of work coaching her daughters’ youth volleyball teams, cheering all four of her children on at various athletic events, and traveling to see family and friends whenever possible.
