Victoria has been involved in healthcare for many years in Southern Nevada. Starting out as a registered nurse she moved quickly through the ranks in the hospital world to become a COO and eventually CEO. She worked for a couple of Healthcare systems including 15 years for the Valley Health system (UHS) and 18 years for the Dignity Health System. During her career in Las Vegas the general theme was growth and building. In her roles she was responsible for building additions, remodels and eventually two green field hospitals. (The Siena Campus in 2000 and the San Martin campus in 2006). After opening both and her role as a CEO for the first 10 years of the hospital VanMeetren left the acute care setting and has worked at Roseman University College of Medicine for the past 6 years. She is a part of the administrative team who is opening a private not-for profit Medical School in Southern Nevada. With over 2600 physicians needed in Clark County in all specialties, she feels strongly that this medical school is essential for our communities’ future. Roseman University teaches with a six-point mastery model that already produces highly skilled graduates and professionals in the health care fields of pharmacy, nursing, and dentistry.

Her work in Business Development with GENESIS is an answer to the challenge of how to effectively merge health services and social services for high-risk and low-income communities. Through the work of GENESIS healthcare teams are dispatched and will identify and help to improve the many medical, social, economic, and environmental factors, or social determinants of health in these communities and assist in removing the barriers and teaching resiliency while improving the health of each household.

Victoria holds a nursing degree, a Health Care Administration degree and an MBA as a three-time UNLV graduate. Throughout her career, she has been involved with many community boards and currently serves on the Board of Trustees for the Vegas Chamber, is on the steering committee the Chamber’s Executive Women’s Council. Having graduated from their Leadership Las Vegas program, she stays involved with Leadership Health Day. She is a Nevada Hand Board of Trustee (which builds affordable housing for low-income families and seniors), chairs their Governance committee and sits on their Finance committee. She is a member of the Medical District Advisory Council, UNLV’s Graduate College Health & Wellness Advisory Board as well as the Bishop Gorman High School Advisory Council. She has been recognized as one of the most influential healthcare and businesspeople in Southern Nevada, including being named Nevada Mother of the Year and 2008 Woman of Distinction.
