NHS: Flip-Flop: The Resurgence in Vaccine-Conquered Diseases
Vaccines are one of the most successful, cost-effective, and safe medical interventions developed. Introduced worldwide, vaccinations are credited with controlling and reducing multiple infectious diseases and, in certain instances eradication of some of the deadliest diseases impacting global health, such as polio, smallpox, and measles. Unfortunately, with growing vaccine skepticism and the anti-vax movement, many of these vaccine-conquered diseases are returning with serious consequences. In this presentation, we will discuss vaccine hesitancy, disease resurgence, and the future of national and global immunization efforts.
