Hero Scholar: Anh Tu Tran
Twice a week for over two years, Anh Tu Tran has walked the halls of Intermountain Medical Center as a Patient Wayfinder, guiding worried families to loved ones during surgery and, through the hospital's No One Dies Alone program, sitting quietly with patients in their final hours so they are never alone. That perspective deepened further when her own mother was diagnosed with breast cancer, and Anh began attending her oncology appointments to translate and advocate for her care.
Her clinical foundation is substantial. Anh has logged over 2,300 hours as a Pharmacy Technician across Smith’s Pharmacy, Macey’s Pharmacy, and Walgreens, holding both PTCB certification and a Utah pharmacy technician license, while also conducting plant virology research at Utah Valley University, where she trained incoming researchers on PCR and data analysis. She now volunteers weekly with the Utah Food Bank, packing and delivering food to families facing food insecurity.
Now pursuing a Doctor of Pharmacy at Roseman University’s South Jordan campus, Anh brings a rare combination of extensive pharmacy experience, scientific rigor, and a deeply personal understanding of what patients and families need most in vulnerable moments. The Hero Scholarship, funded by Unforgettable Coatings, will support her mission to become a pharmacist who leads with patience, communication, and unwavering advocacy for patients facing barriers to care.
