Reese Hoggans, JD, RN, HEC-C

Assistant Professor, Department of Bioethics, Humanism & Policy

Reese Hoggans joined the Roseman University College of Medicine in 2025 as an Assistant Professor in Bioethics, Humanism and Policy. His work focuses on medical jurisprudence, ethics consultation, feminist theory and indigenous health care. An attorney, Professor Hoggans regularly advocates for tribal sovereignty and the medical and legal rights of indigenous women and children.

Professor Hoggans received a B.S. in nursing from New York University and a J.D. from the University of Michigan Law School, where he served as co-President of the Native American Law Students Association. He completed a Fellowship in Medical Ethics at Hofstra-Northwell in 2023 and has served as a Deputy Attorney General for the Colorado River Indian Tribes in Arizona and California since 2024.

Hoggans is a member of the Muscogee (Creek) Nation of Oklahoma.
