He knows his grandmother is smiling down on him.

Brandon, BSN ’21

My grandmother, Lola, was my hero. She was incredibly loving, always taking care of us and cooking amazing things. When she went into hospice, I was devastated. The hospice nurses took exceptional care of her just as they took care of us, her grieving family.

It was at that moment that I knew I wanted to be a nurse. For me, becoming a nurse was a way to honor her memory and life. So, my best friend and I decided to apply to Roseman’s BSN program. I graduated this past Spring and now I am a working full-time as a Cardiac Medical-Surgical Nurse at Mountain View Hospital. Roseman gave me the nursing skills I needed to be successful. And now I am caring for others, just as the hospice nurses cared for my grandmother and my family. I know my grandmother Esperanza is smiling down on me.
