Biography:
Dr. Amanda Koziel, MD, is originally from New Jersey and joined Roseman University College of Medicine in January 2025 as an Assistant Professor of Clinical Sciences. She earned her Doctor of Medicine degree from the Universidad Autónoma de Guadalajara in Mexico, followed by a residency in Family Medicine at Lehigh Valley Health Network in Pennsylvania. During her residency, she pursued a Global Health elective in Kenya, where she focused on tropical diseases, HIV, and tuberculosis. After residency, Dr. Koziel completed a fellowship in HIV and Viral Hepatitis in Massachusetts.
She is Board Certified in Family Medicine and holds certification from the American Academy of HIV Medicine. Most recently, she has practiced full-time clinical patient care providing HIV management, Primary Care and Substance Use Disorder treatment at Federally Qualified Health Centers in Tampa and Southwest Florida. Her clinical work in these settings has given her significant experience navigating the healthcare needs of underserved populations, particularly in areas with varying policies and resource accessibility. Fluent in Spanish, Dr. Koziel is dedicated to addressing cultural and language barriers that many patients face. She is passionate about working in an interdisciplinary team approach to address social determinants of health and improve outcomes for vulnerable communities. Her professional interests include delivering comprehensive Family Medicine care that integrates HIV, Hepatitis, and Substance Use Disorder treatment. She is also committed to faculty development and medical education, and teaching both medical students and resident physicians.
