BIOGRAPHY:
Dr. Bucket L. Manyweather, Ph.D., is an Academic Advisor at Roseman College of Medicine, joining the institution in 2025. With a robust background in higher education and student affairs, Dr. Manyweather brings a wealth of experience to the role. Previously serving as Interim Director of the Division of Equity and Community Inclusion at San Francisco State University, Dr. Manyweather coordinated cultural events, developed comprehensive programming, and fostered community engagement through interactive events and mentoring.
Dr. Manyweather’s academic journey includes a Ph.D. in Higher Education from the University of Nevada Las Vegas, an M.A. in Higher Education Student Affairs from the University of San Francisco, and a B.A. in Ethnic Studies from California State University East Bay. Their teaching experience spans various institutions, including Nevada State University, University of Nevada Las Vegas, San Francisco State University, and California State University East Bay, where they taught courses on leadership, social justice, and community engagement.
In addition to academic advising, Dr. Manyweather has actively contributed to professional committees and community service. They have served as a founding member of the Black CSU Resource Center Group and an advisor to the African Student Association. Dr. Manyweather’s dedication to equity and inclusion is evident through their involvement in numerous advisory committees and professional organizations, aligning with the mission and values of Roseman College of Medicine. Their commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive environment for students continues to drive their work in academic advising.
