BIOGRAPHY:

Nirupa Paulraj, MD started this year in the Clinical Sciences Department as an Assistant Professor of Clinical Sciences at Roseman University College of Medicine. Dr. Paulraj is a Board-Certified Internal Medicine physician. She started her medical training in India where she participated in a Rural Outreach Program to vaccinate children from underserved, rural areas. She attended the University of West Indies, St Augustine Campus, Trinidad and Tobago for clinical rotations of medical school. Her training there gave her access to patients from both urban and agricultural communities. Dr. Paulraj did her Internship and Residency training in Internal Medicine at the University of New Mexico, Albuquerque, NM. Her clinical rotations in residency were split between in the University of New Mexico Hospital and the Veterans Hospital in Albuquerque. During her training, Dr. Paulraj won first place in the regional American College of Physicians (ACP) Poster Presentation. Dr. Paulraj has had extensive experience as an Internal Medicine Hospitalist for several years in the city of Las Vegas. In conjunction with her inpatient work Dr. Paulraj pursued a lifelong interest in medical research. She has been a Clinical Medical Researcher in several clinical trials as the Sub Investigator and later as the Principal Investigator. She is enthusiastic about Evidence Based Medicine and Clinical Skills.
