Hero Scholar: Jaxyn Cook

Jaxyn Cook's connection to service runs deep—her mother was adopted from the very Mexican community she now serves through Ayuda En Mexico (Aid In Mexico). This personal tie has fueled her passion for helping underserved populations, making her a 2025 Hero Scholar.

Over several years, Jaxyn has participated in four separate two-week service trips to Mexico with AEM, a nonprofit organization providing critical supplies to families in need. Her commitment extends far beyond the trips themselves—for six months before each journey, she organizes extensive donation campaigns throughout her local community, speaking at schools and churches, managing supply drives, and mailing information pamphlets to maximize support.

During her time in Mexico, Jaxyn distributed food and supplies, served students at a local special education school, and built meaningful connections with the families she helped. The physically demanding and emotionally impactful work has given her a firsthand understanding of the power of service and the importance of empathy in healthcare.

Jaxyn brings substantial pharmaceutical experience to her studies, having completed over 200 externship hours through Davis Technical College’s Pharmacy Technician Program. She currently works as a Certified Pharmacy Technician at Medquest Pharmacy, specializing in compounding techniques and adherence to USP 795 and 797 regulations. Her previous experience includes time at CVS Pharmacy and three years as a Certified Nursing Assistant with Bristol Hospice, providing home care to patients.

With her Associate of Science from Weber State University and additional PharmD prerequisites from Southern California University of Health Sciences, Jaxyn combines academic preparation with practical experience. Now pursuing her PharmD at Roseman’s South Jordan campus, she is dedicated to advancing patient care through pharmacy education. The Hero Scholarship, provided by the Estate of Robert Stolman, will support her mission to serve diverse communities with the same compassion and dedication she has shown throughout her volunteer work.
