Members of the Roseman family were shaken when alumnus Vincent De Jesus, a 2017 graduate of the College of Nursing, passed away from COVID-19 in August. Vince was a committed and compassionate nurse who served on the frontlines in providing care to hospitalized coronavirus patients in Las Vegas. He was only 39 years old.
College of Nursing Dean Dr. Brian Oxhorn said, “Vince was a true healthcare hero. He was both loved for his caring heart and respected for his dedication to the field of nursing. His classmates and fellow alumni, as well as our faculty and staff members, mourn his loss and extend our deepest sympathy to his family.”
To honor Vince’s memory, Roseman University will be making a scholarship award in his memory this fall. In accordance with Vince’s family’s wishes, the award will be bestowed on a male nursing student who meets specific academic criteria and who has had a positive impact on his community.
Friends, alumni, and colleagues who wish to donate to this award can do so from Roseman’s scholarship donation page. Please scroll down the page to the donation form, where the designation field will show “Vince De Jesus Memorial Gift.” Contributors will add to Vince’s legacy, and will be notified of the student recipient later this year.
