The latest edition of Health Care Careers in Nevada published by the The High Sierra Area Health Education Center (AHEC) and the University of Nevada School of Medicine, shows the job outlook in the state for pharmacists, dentists and nurses is very promising. Data from the 2011-2012 report shows that 2,400 pharmacists are employed in Nevada drawing an average salary of $111,300. One hundred and ten pharmacists’ jobs are projected to open every year in the state, which makes a degree in pharmacy one of the most recession proof professions in Nevada.
The report also includes interesting facts about employment for Dental and Nursing professionals. Twelve hundred Dentists and 16,900 Registered Nurses are employed in Nevada alone. Projections for Registered Nurses and Dentists’ job openings per year are 690 and 35 respectively. Dentists are paid $166,400 on an average per year and Registered Nurses make an average of $75,150.
