Heart of Roseman: Paige Holloway, DNPNA Class of 2027

October 14, 2025 By Rachael Thomas

Roseman University’s Six-Point Mastery Learning Model® has had a significant impact on me as a student. The focus on competency and genuine understanding, rather than merely progressing through the material, has challenged me to strive for excellence in every area.

I’m originally from Boulder City, Nevada—a small town with a strong sense of community and connection. I’m married to my best friend, a proud dog mom, and part of a big, blonde dnpna student smilingsupportive family. Growing up surrounded by the outdoors, I developed a love for hunting, which taught me patience, discipline, and respect for nature. Whether I’m out in the field or spending time with loved ones, I value being present, staying grounded, and always working toward something meaningful.

My decision to become a CRNA was inspired by a family tragedy that introduced me to the world of medicine. During that difficult time, I witnessed the remarkable care and expertise of healthcare providers and became especially drawn to anesthesia. The CRNA’s role— a blend of advanced clinical skills, autonomy, and the ability to make a direct impact on patient outcomes —spoke deeply to me. That experience not only inspired my path into healthcare but also motivated me to pursue a career in nurse anesthesia where I can be present for patients and their families during some of their most vulnerable moments.

The focus on competency and genuine understanding, rather than merely progressing through the material, has challenged me to strive for excellence in every area. The block curriculum allows for deep focus on one subject at a time, which has strengthened both my retention and confidence. It’s shaped how I approach challenges both in and out of the classroom. I find myself more disciplined, better at managing my time, and more collaborative. It has taught me to seek clarity, ask questions, and be accountable for fully understanding the material before moving forward.

After graduation, I hope to work as a CRNA in a hospital or surgical center where I can continue to grow clinically and professionally, gaining a broad range of experience. Long term, I hope to work in a rural or underserved area where access to anesthesia providers is limited, so I can help make a meaningful impact on patient care in those communities. Whether locally or globally, I want my work to reflect a commitment to service, compassion, and clinical excellence.dnpna student in clinic
