Henderson Report – April 2021

April 7, 2021

I’d like to open this month’s Henderson report by wishing everyone a happy spring season. Spring is a time of rejuvenation. With warmer weather upon us, I hope everyone is taking the opportunity to refresh their mind and body by enjoying some time outdoors before the summer heat arrives here in our southern Nevada desert.

This spring, the Orthodontic Clinic at Roseman University College of Dental Medicine at the Henderson campus is inviting southern Nevadans to “Spring into a Fresh Smile,” by offering special promotions to help southern Nevada families considering orthodontic treatment. A number of discounts are now available, including a 10% discount for multiple patients from a household, a 10% discount for new patients referred to the clinic by a staff member, faculty, resident, or another patient (a referring patient will receive a $100 credit), a 5% discount for new patients and a 5% discount for any patient who pays their entire treatment contract in full. More information about these discounts can be found online at https://www.rosemandental.com/home-nv/.

I’d like to also take this time to congratulate Dr. Glen Roberson for being appointed as the new Program Director of the College of Dental Medicine’s Advanced Education in Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics/Master of Business Administration (AEODO/MBA) program. Dr. Roberson has been part of the residency program since 2010 and also serves as Associate Professor of Dental Medicine. He is currently an active member of the American Association of Orthodontists (AAO), Pacific Coast Society of Orthodontists (PCSO), and American Dental Education Association (ADEA). He also works extensively with southern Nevada patients with craniofacial anomalies, including cleft lip and palate. Please join me in welcoming Dr. Roberson into his new role.

To close this month’s Henderson campus report, I’d like to invite you to join us for the 7th Annual Roseman University Research Symposium. This year’s event will be held virtually on Wednesday, April 14. Open to the public, the event will showcase research projects by students, residents, research fellows, and faculty from Roseman’s Colleges of Pharmacy, Medicine, Dental Medicine, and Nursing as well as projects by researchers at other educational and research institutions in Nevada, Utah, and the surrounding region. More information about the event can be found at https://research.roseman.edu/symposium/.

While the Research Symposium will be held virtually, I’m pleased to share that the commencement ceremony for the Class of 2021 will be held in person on Wednesday, May 12 at 6:00 pm at the Thomas & Mack Center in Las Vegas. Information can be found at https://www.roseman.edu/students-alumni/graduation/. Following last year’s cancelation due to the COVID-19 pandemic, I’m excited for all of us to come together with the pomp and circumstance befitting such a significant event in the lives of our graduates. I’m looking forward to celebrating with the Class of 2021.

Sincerely,

Dr. Eucharia Nnadi
