Welcome to the March edition of spectRUm. This month marks the start of the busy spring season of Roseman University events, kicking off with our Sixth Annual Research Symposium on Wednesday, March 11. This year, more than 70 bench science, clinical and educational research projects by students, residents, research fellows and faculty from Roseman University will be on display at the Henderson campus. Also showcased will be projects by researchers from Touro University Nevada, Valley Health System, Dignity Health St. Rose Dominican, VA Southern Nevada Healthcare System, MountainView Hospital and more.
The Research Symposium will also welcome back a distinguished Roseman University alum from the College of Pharmacy’s Class of 2007, Dr. Ravina Kullar. Since graduating, Dr. Kullar has established herself as a nationally and internationally recognized leader in the fight against antibiotic resistance, one of the biggest public health challenges of our time. Over the past decade, she has published more than 30 research papers, delivered TED talks, appeared on national television programs and presented at conferences around the globe on the subject. At the Research Symposium, Dr. Kullar will present “The Post-Antibiotic Apocalypse: Can We Turn Back Time?” Her presentation in compelling and thought-provoking and I encourage everyone to attend. This event is free and open to the public. More information can be found at roseman.edu/research-symposium you can also read more about the Research Symposium in this month’s spectRUm.
Registration is open for the April 16 “State of the University” from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. on the Henderson campus. Presented by President and Co-Founder Dr. Renee Coffman, the event will highlight Roseman University’s past, present and future. Just days later on Saturday, April 18, we’re proud to host the “20th Anniversary Celebration” from 6 to 9 p.m. on the Veranda overlooking the pool at The M Resort. The deadline to register for this event is March 15. Information and online registration for both of these events can be found at 20.roseman.edu.
Also, mark your calendars for a celebration of the Class of 2020. This year’s Roseman University Commencement will be held at 9 a.m. on Friday, May 15 at the Henderson Pavilion.
