VanderPal began a finance career in 1992 as a senior financial advisor and money manager with Citicorp Investment Services and First Union Securities (Wachovia). In 2002 he created Elite Financial Planning Group and later Skyline Capital Management, an independent advisory firm specializing in principal preservation investment strategies. Currently VanderPal teaches and has ownership interests and advises on several businesses.

VanderPal is a professor/guest lecturer in economics and finance at universities worldwide having taught on 4 continents. He has appeared in academic and financial publications such as Time, Smart Money, Fortune, InvestmentNews, AARP Bulletin, USA Today, Journal of Financial Planning, Journal of Personal Finance and Wharton Financial Institutions Center. He is also a Securities Arbitrator with the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA), and has received numerous awards for his work in finance and the community.

He earned a Doctorate of Business Administration and Finance (DBA) with honors from Nova Southeastern University, an MBA from Webster University and a bachelor’s degree in business with emphasis in finance, marketing, and management from Columbia College. He also earned a Post-Doctorate of GLobal Leadership from Colorado Technical University. VanderPal is a Certified Financial Planner, Chartered Life Underwriter and Certified Treasury Professional.
