Q&A with Longtime Roseman University of Health Sciences Sponsor, Clark County Credit Union

July 16, 2021

Clark County Credit Union (CCCU) has been a longtime partner, friend, and sponsor to Roseman University.  CCCU has sponsored Roseman’s annual Founder’s Day, the Neighborhood Health Series, the GENESIS program via the Roadrunner Resource Series, and more.

CCCU, with its support of Nevada’s healthcare workforce, has also supported Roseman students in offering them free financial literacy information, goodie bags, and appreciation for their journey to the frontlines of healthcare.  Roseman deeply appreciates our long-standing partnership!

We sat down with Crystal Price, Director of Marketing, to let her tell her story about CCCU.

Please tell us about your organization’s primary business purpose.

Since 1951, Clark County Credit Union has been helping our members save more money and time in order to accomplish their financial goals and dreams. We return the profits we make back to our more than 46,000 members in the form of lower loan rates and fees, higher savings yields, cutting-edge services, and an annual Bonus Dividend that pays members back for their participation in the credit union. We prove every day that it pays to belong.

Please tell us your organization’s primary focus in the area of community engagement.

In 2019, CCCU created the Cares Committee to spread good works following its core values: Caring, Community, Compassion, and Unity. The group provides employees the opportunity to volunteer as well as give back to the Southern Nevada community. Since its creation, more than 180 volunteer hours have been logged, as well as numerous humanitarian efforts from CCCU’s employees, and monetary donations to support the various causes of local non-profits.

What belief, accomplishment or work does your organization subscribe to or do that makes you most proud?

Our goal is to help our members realize their financial goals and dreams and to do that we strive to make it easy to do business with Clark County Credit Union. We continuously look at our processes and our members’ experiences with CCCU to make it easy to get a loan, open a new account and make other important financial decisions. We regularly follow up with our members with a transactional survey; we read each response, and use the feedback to improve our products, services, and member support.  We are proud of our members and the good they do with their families and in their communities and we want to help them financially in any way we can.

Tell us about your employees.

Clark County Credit Union is made up of a team of dedicated professionals who are invested in our member’s future and want to help them meet their financial goals and dreams. We strive day in and out to be good stewards of their money. Our team works hard to keep expenses under control so that we can offer great value to our member-owners. That comes in the form of new services, lower loan rates, credit and debit card rewards, and other updates that add value to everyone’s life.

Tell us about your leadership.

Clark County Credit Union believes that leadership is something that each of our employees brings to the organization and it is something that can be learned. We provide a work environment that nurtures each employee’s own unique qualities and strengths, and allows for them to have areas of improvement. We believe that by fostering this type of environment, we will increase motivational levels and willingness to work, create higher-performing teams, and be more effective in meeting the demands of our members.

Why do you choose to partner with Roseman University of Health Sciences?

We partner with Roseman University of Health Sciences because like CCCU, they are concerned with the future of their community. We also partner with Roseman because they are an institution for future healthcare professionals which falls in the category of Medical Profession-Related, a select employee group at Clark County Credit Union. Partnering with Roseman is a natural fit!
