Students from the pharmacy program at Roseman University’s South Jordan campus are planning a spring health fair and 5K run on April 28.
The day’s events will begin at 8:00 a.m., with a 5K Fun Run/Walk on the Jordan River Parkway trail across the street from Roseman University. Prizes will be awarded to the top finishers.
The Health Fair, which also begins at 8:00 a.m., is in the main building of the Roseman South Jordan campus, and includes free health screenings such as cholesterol, glucose, and blood pressure, information on safe disposal of expired prescription medications, a Red Cross blood drive, vendors, prizes, and more. The event will raise money for the National Community Pharmacists Association student chapter and the second-year pharmacy class at the Utah campus. Nursing and dental medicine students will also be helping with the health fair.
Students from the Drug Abuse Awareness Team (DAAT) are also coordinating with South Jordan Police to collect unused and expired prescription and over-the-counter medications as part of the Drug Enforcement Agency’s (DEA) National Drug Take-Back Day on April 28.
