Roseman University will also present its Sixth Annual Champions of Health Care in Education Awards at its 10th Annual Scholarship Gala on Saturday, May 12 at the Mandarin Oriental Las Vegas. This year’s distinguished honorees include Emily Neilson, general manager of 8 News Now, and Dr. David Steinberg, CEO of Steinberg Diagnostic Medical Imaging. Both individuals are being recognized for their outstanding contributions to education and health care in Southern Nevada. Last year’s honorees included Selma Bartlett, Dr. Ronald Kline and Bruce Spotleson.
This year’s gala is themed “In the Year of the Dragon,” evoking the ambition and passion associated with the fifth and mightiest position of the Chinese Zodiac. Bringing the theme to life, the ballroom of the Mandarin Oriental Las Vegas will be adorned with traditional Year of the Dragon décor that will be complemented with music and performances to create an atmosphere befitting the greatest of Chinese holiday celebrations.
The soiree begins at 5:30 p.m. with a reception featuring fine wines and hors d’ouerves. Following, a specially created dinner will feature a variety Asian-fusion cuisine. Nielson and Steinberg will receive their awards during the evening’s program.

Proceeds from the gala benefit student scholarships and services for Roseman University’s nursing, pharmacy and dental students.
