My family and I recently went hiking. Although our children weren’t originally thrilled by the idea of spending their Saturday morning trudging up a mountainside, their perspective changed once we reached the top. The fall colors and the majesty of Mt. Timpanogos were on full display. One of them even admitted that he would hike ten times higher if he had known the view would be so beautiful. Fall truly has the power to inspire and elevate our perspective!
This season will bring several exciting happenings at Roseman University. For example, the University is the Presenting Sponsor and VIP Reception Host for Utah Business Magazine’s Healthcare Heroes. Better yet, we have two of our own receiving the honor! Vicki Drent (Director of Clinical Operations and Continuing Education for the College of Dental Medicine) and Catherine Cone (Assistant Dean of Assessment for the College of Pharmacy) are two of the individuals being honored at the VIP Reception on October 28th for their efforts during the pandemic. Vicki was instrumental in keeping Roseman Dental open and for coordinating COVID tests for students and Catherine spearheaded Roseman’s participation in administering COVID vaccines in Davis County. Way to go! We are so proud of you!
I am also excited to announce that on Oct 12, the College of Dental Medicine is hosting donors and supporters to an exclusive Hard Hat Tour and Reception at our new Roseman Dental & Orthodontics Pediatric Specialty Clinic located at the Cure 4 The Kids Foundation, a division of Roseman University of Health Sciences in Summerlin Nevada. This state-of-the-art clinic will provide dental treatment for patients of Nevada’s only not-for-profit center specializing in the research and treatment of childhood cancer and other catastrophic childhood diseases.
Back on September 9, Roseman South Jordan employees participated in United Way’s Day of Caring. We spent the day providing outdoor maintenance and upkeep to Camp Kostopulos – a fabulous organization that provides recreational and educational opportunities primarily to children and youth with disabilities. This was a great opportunity to build unity within our campus while also fulfilling our mission to give back and serve.
I am so amazed by what our faculty, staff, students, and alumni are accomplishing. We continue to serve each other and our communities. I am inspired by you!
Best wishes,
Jeremy Wells, JD
Chancellor, South Jordan Campus
