Mark your calendar for Monday, March 30 through Wednesday, April 1 for “Cancer: The Emperor of All Maladies,” airing on Vegas PBS with Roseman University’s College of Medicine as the presenting sponsor. Airing at 9 p.m. each night, the Barak Goodman film is presented by famed documentary film maker Ken Burns and is a three-part biography of cancer that covers the first documented evidences of it from thousands of years ago through the epic battles in the 20th century to cure, control and conquer it. The project matches the epic scale of the malady, reshaping the way the public sees cancer and stripping away some of the fear and misunderstanding that has long surrounded it. The series is both a riveting historical documentary and an engrossing and intimate film that tells the story of current patients.
Roseman University’s College of Medicine has teams of researchers using the most advanced, ultrasensitive instrumentation and quantitative and objective data analysis to develop new and effective therapies for treating cancer.
