The first one was the Drug Take-Back program on Saturday, February 25th, which took place at the Safe Kids Fair in Sandy, led by the South Jordan Police Department. DAAT spread awareness of drug abuse not only by having patrons donate their unused drugs to our booth, the police department, and at Intermountain, but there were also interactive activities such as differentiating between drugs and candy and our own photo booth with our DAAT mascot.
The next event was a DAAT presentation on drug abuse given to the children from the Sugarhouse Boys and Girls Club on March 1st. The kids were very engaged with DAAT’s topic, shared their personal stories, and asked great questions. In the end, they all received candy and a certificate stating that they have completed DAAT’s course in drug abuse and awareness.
