September 23, 2025 By Jason Roth

Roseman University reached a historic milestone this summer as the College of Medicine welcomed its very first class of future physicians. On Friday, July 25, 64 members of the pioneering Class of 2029 were honored at the inaugural White Coat Ceremony, held at Emerald at Queensridge in Las Vegas.

With the presentation of their white coats and stethoscopes, these remarkable students began their journey toward becoming Nevada’s next generation of physicians. For Roseman University and the communities we serve, the event was more than a symbolic tradition—it represented years of vision, planning, and collaboration to help address Nevada’s critical physician shortage.

“Our White Coat Ceremony marked a new chapter in Roseman’s history,” said Founding Dean Dr. Joe Greer. “It’s the foundation of our commitment to training the next generation of physicians who will serve Nevada and beyond.”

The Class of 2029 reflects both diversity and determination. Students range in age from 21 to 33 and hail from 14 states across the country, with nearly one-quarter calling Nevada home. Many are trailblazers in their families and communities—27 percent are first-generation college students, and 14 percent graduated from Title I high schools. Their stories embody Roseman’s mission to expand access to medical education and prepare physicians who mirror the patients and communities they will serve.

Looking ahead, these students will spend the next four years immersed in Roseman’s unique character-based, competency-focused curriculum, designed to equip them with both the knowledge and compassion to provide exceptional care. When they graduate in 2029, they will carry with them not only their medical training but also the legacy of being the first to pave the way for generations of Roseman physicians to come.

The White Coat Ceremony was a celebration of achievement, but also a promise: that Roseman University’s College of Medicine is committed to shaping a healthier Nevada and nation, one student—and one patient—at a time.
