Roseman University of Health Sciences College of Pharmacy’s Dr. Manas Mandal Appointed to Fulbright Specialists Roster

HENDERSON, Nev. – January 8, 2020 – Roseman University of Health Sciences College of Pharmacy Associate Professor Manas Mandal, MSc, PhD, was recently appointed to the Fulbright Specialist Roster for a term of three years ending in 2022.

The Fulbright Specialist Program is a unique opportunity for U.S. academics and established professionals to engage in two- to six-week, project-based exchanges at host institutions across the globe. The Fulbright Specialist Program, part of the larger Fulbright Program, was established in 2001 by the U.S. Department of State, Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs (ECA). The program pairs highly qualified U.S. academics and professionals with host institutions abroad to share their expertise, strengthen institutional linkages, hone their skills, gain international experience, and learn about other cultures while building capacity at their overseas host institutions.

Since joining Roseman University in 2006, Mandal has coordinated and taught immunology to students in the College of Pharmacy’s Doctor of Pharmacy program, as well as students and residents in Roseman University’s College of Dental Medicine.

In addition to teaching, Dr. Mandal is active in research. His current research interest includes detection of salivary biomarker in orthodontics patients, use of bacterial toxin in vaccine delivery, marine toxin in drug discovery, drug-induced immune modulation, and educational research. His research has been published in major journals in toxicology, immunology and drug delivery. Dr. Mandal also serves as a reviewer of journals, grants and abstracts for professional societies and has given invited talks and presentations in U.S. and abroad, as well as chaired scientific sessions.
